Etymology

Pakhli is named after Sultan Pakhal Swati who was the First Sultan of Gabari Kingdom of Swat also known as Pakhal Sarkar.[2]

Areas

According to the Hazara Gazetteer 1883, Pakhli is the country of Swatis, comprising all areas of District Mansehra and District Battagram excluding Feudal Tanawal.[3][4][5] Today due to a lack of knowledge, people consider only "Pakhli Plains" as the entire Pakhli, however Pakhli plains are also the part of greater Pakhli region. Pakhli plains consist of areas like Shinkyari, Bhogarmang, Dhodial, Bherkund, Malakpur, Sherpur, Konsh, and Battal only.
