Parramatta State School

16°55′30″S 145°45′46″E / 16.92500°S 145.76278°E / -16.92500; 145.76278Parramatta State School is a public, co-educational, primary school, located in the Cairns suburb of Paramatta Park in Queensland, Australia.[1][2] It is administered by the Department of Education, with an enrolment of 443 students and a teaching staff of 53, as of 2023.[2] The school serves students from Prep to Year 6,[1][2] and is one of the oldest schools within the Cairns region.
History
The school opened 24 January 1927,[3] north of the Parramatta Park reserve.[4]
The principal at the time, Wayne Kirk, was suspended from his role after using a Department of Education credit card for his own personal affairs in 2015.[5]
