The Blasters on yhdysvaltalainen rock and roll-yhtye, jonka perustivat veljekset Phil ja Dave Alvin Downeyssa, Kaliforniassa vuonna 1979. Yhtye ammensi oppinsa suoraan vanhoilta mestareilta (Big Joe Turner, Lee Allen), jotka ottivat bändin siipiensä alle. The Blasters oli tärkeä osa 1980-luvun traditionaalisen rockabillyn nousua, sillä se avasi portteja muillekin. Yhtye on kuvailelug musiikkiaan termillä "American music", jossa on vaikutteita eri tyylilajeista: blues, rockabilly, rock and roll, punk rock, rhythm and blues, Folk ja country.

Dave Alvin lähti yhtyeestä 1980-luvun puolivälissä. Hän oli lyhyen aikaa X-yhtyeessä.^[1]

Yleisradio välitti Blastersin esiintymisen Pihtiputaan Saapasjalkarockissa suorana radiossa ja televisiossa 4.7.1987.^[2]
