Il gatto maestro o Il gatto con gli stivali ("Sang Kucing Handalan atau Sang Kucing Berbut"; Perancis: Le Maître chat ou le Chat bottécode: fr is deprecated , bahasa Inggeris: Puss in Bootscode: en is deprecated ) adalah sebuah cerita dongeng dari Itali[1][2] mengisahkan seekor kucing bertingkah laku seperti manusia yang menggunakan tipu daya untuk mendapatkan kekuasaan, kekayaan dan puteri raja yang ingin dinikahinya. Kisah tertua watak ini diceritakan Giovanni Francesco Straparola dalam bab XIV–XV karya Le piacevoli notti (s. 1550–53); karya tersebut tidak dapat dipastikan sama ada benar-benar direka beliau sendiri mahupun ditulis dari kisah lisan masyarakatnya.[3]
