De arme glazenmaker Samuel Brisbee heeft onbreekbaar glas uitgevonden. Hij wil een demonstratie geven van zijn uitvinding tijdens het autocongres. Door een pijnlijk misverstand loopt die demonstratie volledig in het honderd. Op weg naar huis redt hij bij toeval een jonge prinses.
