Lyfing (? - 12. jun 1020) bio je anglosaksonski biskup Wellsa i nadbiskup Canterburyja.
Rodio se kao "Ælfstan", a poslije zaređenja uzeo crkveno ime leof-carus (= "dragi"). Služio je kao opat Opatije Chertsey od oko 989.[1][2] Godine 998. ili 999. je postao biskup Wellsa,[3] a godine 1013. ga je kralj Æthelred Nespremni imenovao za canterburyjskog nadbiskupa.[4] Lyfing je nedugo potom bio zarobljen od Vikinga (Danaca), ali je relativno brzo pušten pa je imao prilike biti prisutan Witenagemotu 1014. godine. Nakon toga je otpočeo obnovu štete koju su Vikinzi za vrijeme danske invazije napravili Canterburyjskoj katedrali.
Lyfing za vrijeme Ethleredove vladavine zbog danske invazije nije mogao otići u Rim po svoj pallium, zbog čega je biskupe u Engleskoj umjesto njega posvećivao nadbiskup Wulfstan od Yorka.[5] Poslije je otišao na put u Rim, te se 1018. vratio u Englesku s pismima pape Benedikta VIII.[6] Kao nadbiskup Canterburyja je okrunio dva engleska kralja - Ethelredovog sina Edmunda Ironsidea 1016. i Knuta Velikog 1017.[1] Historičari pretpostavljaju da je za Knuta barem jednom obavio diplomatsku misiju u Rimu.[7]
Lyfing je umro 12. juna 1020.[4] He was buried in Canterbury Cathedral, near the altar of St. Martin.[1] Anglosaksonska kronika za njega navodi da je bio mudar, odnosno "dalekovidan čovjek".[8]
