Elections to Manchester Town Council were held on Friday, 1 November 1844. One third of the councillors seats were up for election, with each successful candidate to serve a three-year term of office. The Conservative Party contested these elections for the first time, winning three seats.[1] The Liberal Party retained overall control of the council.[2]
